Car Hire & Mae Sot Airport

Phuket Most tourists head for Patong Beach where Budget & National are the only supplier to have a depot other than at the airport, so the others deliver for a fee. Vehicles can be delivered around the island. Kata Beach is a quieter option.

Pattaya If heading for Beach Road, Walking Street, or the quieter Jomtien,then Budget are best if want leave car when get there. Days on the local islands are well worth it. The Natural Beach Hotel by the sea, is handily placed and quiet.

Koh Samui Get a Toyota Vigo, Single or Double Cab to explore the island from either the depot at Koh Samui Airport or later at Chaweng Beach.

One ways in Thailand

These are usually free, depot to depot, but sometimes fees may apply depending on car hire supplier, length of trip, and start and finish point.

Budget are usually best for one ways, if rental over 3 days then no charge, followed by Hertz & Chic, at 5 days hire needed.

Sixt are now charging fees of between THB2,500 and THB10,000 for a one way, regardless of length of rental. National also charge, whereas Thai Rent a Car are free of charge, if booking for 7 days or more.
