Khon Kaen is located in the north eastern region of Thailand. It is known locally as, the capital city of Isan.
Khon Kaen lies approx 449 kilometers northeast of Bangkok. Visit Chonnabot and see traditional silk weaving, about 60 Km's south west of Khon Kaen. Also visit the Exhibition hall which is dedicated to Thai silk, where you can buy.
Visit the racetrack, which is open Saturdays and Sundays 12:00 - 18:00. Please be aware that gambling is illegal in Thailand but seems okay to do at racetracks.
Bung Kaen Nakorn is a lakeside district, famous for its many food stalls. Take time out to sample the many local spicy Isan dishes. Don't forget to sample the Som Tom.
