The Trabzon Castle ruins would be great to investigate, unfortunately as it lies within a military zone this will not be possible and can only be viewed from the town centre.
Trabzon Airport is located near the Black Sea in Turkey. The airport itself is located eight kilometers from the city centre in the eastern part of Trabzon. Whilst the airport is small it does serve the whole of Trabzon province, able to transport 1.5 million plus passengers annually.
There is taxi service located outside arrivals. The fare to downtown is approximately 10 Euros. Public transport is also available. The bus depot is uphill, 500 meters from the terminal building. The bus fare is approximately EUR5, so the walk will save you some money.
If you value convenience more than anything else, you can simply book a rental car for touring the province of Trabzon.
