Airport tax is payable locally, except where a supplier, like Centauro, offers a Meet & Greet service to take you to their depot close to the airport.

Renting with no excess is advisable, and cheaper to pre-pay now, than pay extra insurance, which is an option locally. However, this does not cover everything, so we advise the purchase of our additional excess cover insurance.

This will cover any claim on the damage and theft excess. It also has additional cover damage to windows, underside and tyres.

Delivery to your hotel is also possible.

Motorway Tolls

These roads are no longer free to travel on. The A22 in the Algarve, the A23 in Torres Novas-Guarda, the A24 in Viseu-Chaves and the A25 in Vilar Formoso-Aveiro.

These motorways will only have overhead gantry systems and they will not have toll booths, or machines on the motorway so you can pay as you go.

You must pre-buy credits, or face fines.

However vehicles can be collected from downtown Faro if prefer to relax after your flight.

In Madeira , we can help you save if flying to Funchal Airport. Collect at either the airport or in the town, or have delivered to your hotel or villa.

On the Azores our discounted prices are available on all the main islands, but renting your vehicle at the Ponta Delgada Airport is the usual option. Minivans also tend to be cheaper when booked through these suppliers.

If prefer not to collect you car at, say, Faro Airport, and perhaps you going to Albufeira, to enjoy the delights of the Old Town and The Strip,then it is possible to get your holiday auto in the city, and then after your trip has come to an end. you can leave it at the airport. An extra fee will apply, but this is included in the rental cost shown.
