About Caen

Well known as being close to the Normandy landing beaches, it makes a for a good base to go back in time, starting with Omaha Beach.

Then, courtesy of a short journey, by bus, car or train, you can go even further back in time, to 1066, by popping along to see the Bayeux Tapestry, in the same named, nearby town.

Other things to see in and around Caen include the Peace Memorial, the two abbeys (one for men, one for women), and a smattering of churches and museums to keep you busy.
