About Patong Beach, Phuket

Patong Beach on the island of Phuket tends to be where the majority of tourists head for, even if just for a evening stroll and meal at one of the many outdoor restaurants. The nightlife is not as manic as, say, that of Pattaya and is more family orientated. Most people fly into Phuket International Airport, which is about forty five minutes from Patong. You can either hire a car at the airport, or get a bus or taxi. If wanting to drive from Bangkok, this will take a good 8-10 hours, and maybe an overnight at Hua Hin to break the journey. Going by train is slower and does not go all the way to Phuket.
