About Perpignan
This medieval town is about eight miles inland, in beautiful countryside, but near enough to the sea and mountains, to make an ideal base for any type of holiday.
Two of the main tourist attractions are the (great sounding name for a rock band?) Palace of the Kings of Majorca and the St John's Cathdedral, which both date back to the 13th century.
Enjoying the local produce like olive oil, and wine (using local cork) will no doubt be done daily.
About Perpignan Airport
The airport also goes by the name of Rivesaltes (a town it is also near), having once been known as Llabanere.
It is handily based for those who like the beaches of the Med, or the snow of the Pyrenees. The IATA code is PGF.
