Turin has a dream setting with the majestic Alps, and skiing just a short hire car drive away to the north and west. Or, head south and take your hire car to the rolling hills of Monferrato.
The main attractions of Turin are to be found in the old town, and include the Mole Antonelliana. Built in 1863 it is home to the National Cinema Museum.
See the well preserved Roman towers of Palatine. Then park your hire car near the Cathedral of St John, the Baptist, which houses the Shroud of Turin. This is believed, by many, to be the cloth that the body of Christ was wrapped in after his death. However, the truth it is still shrouded in mystery and has not been proved scientifically.
