The airport has the IATA code HVB, and Qantas and Virgin are the two main ones who fly here. It is about three miles Urangan, and also goes by the name of Fraser Coast Airport.

Hervey Bay is not a town itself, but consists of these five towns:- Pialba, Point Vernon, Scarness, Torquay & Urangan, so it is fair to say it has changed a bit since Captain Cook found it and named it after his employer.

You cannot get a train all the way, but a coach will take you as far as Marborough, and then a half hour bus journey needed. Once there, then to see all the bay has to offer, we suggest hiring a bicycle, as there is about twelve miles of purpose-built cycle way.
