The airport is small but very busy during the summer months, when it services mostly European charter flights. ATM and a bureau de change are present inside the terminal building.

Good selection of duty-free shops selling perfumes, electrical goods, tobacco and other duty free items. In addition there are kiosks selling newspapers, magazines and refreshments.

The GR-7, E55, and E65 roads connect Kalamata Airport with Tripoli and Corinth. Another access road is the GR82 road which also leads to nearby towns of Sparta and Pylos.
