About Bromley
This old market town, dating back over one thousand two hundred years, is in the south east part of Greater London, having once been part of Kent, but becoming part of London in 1965. It has a population of around seventeen thousand people.
H.G. Wells hails from Bromley and Charles Darwin was born in a nearby town. It also got a mention in a Jane Austen book.
The town grew from always being a main stopping point in the days of coaches, and this continued with the development of the railways.
There is also a full length, proper movie about the local football, called Bromley Boys, that is worth watching.
