Take the national road to reach Rancuaga, La Serena, and Valdivia are all good towns to visit. A map is advised but Ruta 5 is the key road that links with Ruta 68, the route that will take you to Valparaiso and the beautiful resort town of Vina del Mar. However, if your final destination is Punta Arenas, you might have to go through the borders of Argentina and drive farther south.
