About Grimsby in Lincolnshire

This town has very strong North Sea fishing history, and once was known as Great Grimsby, so it did not get confused with Little Grimsby just a few miles away. It is now linked to Cleethorpes, as they have both spread their suburbs. The port and docks are on the River Humber, on the southern banks.

If you are a Codhead, then you will probably hail from here and support the local football League team, otherwise you will just be known as a Grimbarian.

The Brothers Grimm are not related to the supposed founder of the original village, with a Danish fisherman called Grim, claiming that accolade.
