Just 2 hours from downtown Bangkok on the East cost lies Rayong. Rayong is renowned for its beautiful pristine beaches which stretch for over 100km's. Visit Wat Pa Pradu built during the Ayutthaya period. Within the temple is a large reclining Buddha which reclines to the left side most recline to the right . Best reached by car by driving approx 12km’s along highway 3 in the direction of Sattahip and take a right turn at Kilometer 207-208 . The beach is just 3 Kim's down this road opposite the large outdoor Maptaphut market. Shopping Rayong is famed for its local quality crystal called Lotus which is available in many shops or for a day out visit the factory and see it being handmade by local Thai craftsmen Unlike Irish Waterford crystal it is mostly ornamental. Feeling sporty then tennis is available at most major hotels, For a more relaxing day go deep sea fishing which can be combined with snorkeling , Scuba diving is also available on the off shore islands. Golf Rayong has no shortage of first class golf courses.

Regular flights from Bangkok Thai Airways operate daily flights to Rayong-Utapao International Airport from Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket and Samui .By Bus Rayong can be reached by Bus from most major towns including Bangkok Pattaya, Chanthaburi ,Chonburi, Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen, Surin and Ubon Ratchathani.
