USA & Extra Drivers

A slightly complicated part of hiring a car in the USA, can be the extra drivers. In California, it is the state law, that all drivers are included in the basic rate, although only Dollar says this in their terms. So now, you can book with Alamo or National and insist they include extra drivers in the cost. Budget include an extra driver on all their rates, regardless of where collected.

Provided the usual travel insurance is taken out for the USA, no extra insurance cover isneeded. However, this will not stop you being offered additional, optional, insurance, which you can decline, or go back and cancel within 24 hours.
