If you want to hire a car in Norway should be at least 19 years old. However, car rental companies may raise the age requirement to 25 years old, depending upon the type of car that you want.

For short visits, the license that you use from your country of origin is sufficient. It has to have been valid for at least a year, for it to be accepted by the major car hire companies, but as always, best to have an International Licence as well.

We can also provide one way car hire in Norway. Whilst one way rentals are available they can work out expensive. It depends on the distance.

Norway can get very cold and the weather very severe, so we advise booking a 4WD such as the Nissan X-Trail or Land Rover. If skiing, then either add ski racks to your booking request or consider renting a station wagon similar to the Volvo V50 Estate. Winter tyres are mandatory and are included free of charge.

In Norway, the peak season is the summer, so best to rent your vehicle early.
