CDW Excess Insurance Cover
In the event of a car park dent, or a traffic accident, to reduce your liability risk, you can either take out local insurance to reduce the amount, or buy Car Hire Insurance Excess Cover (CHIE), which covers any claim, plus offers some other benefits. Please note the CHIE repays a claim, and is the cheaper option, if you can afford the excess amounts on your card.
Winter Equipment
When going when the snow and ice likely to be on the ground, or heading for the mountains, winter tyres are usually provided free of charge. You can also get extras like snow chains, ski racks.
Speed limits
Don't forget that, when driving in the Netherlands, the speed limits around the country are:-
120kph on motorways, 100kph on open roads and 50kph when driving around towns and cities.
