About Grantley Adams Airport

Grantley Adams also goes by GAIA and is also known as Bridgetown Airport. It is the international airport for Barbados.

As Barbados was and still is a popular destination, there is a real, retired Concorde in the Concorde Museum at the airport. It has the call sign G-BOAE, which was the same plane that first visited the island with Queen Elizabeth II on board.

This plane was also the last flight of any Concorde as it flew to Barbados. The airport is close to the south coast of Barbados, hence it used to be known as Seawell Airport.

Airport taxes as well as arrival and departure taxes are included in the flight ticket, so no need for cash.

If in transit, you may need to clear immigration and customs, as depends where flying to, as if regional, then might not be a need. Good selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Services found at the airport, include:- wheelchairs, post office, ambulance centre, ATM, cambio and Red Cap porter service.
