However, we also let you book with the smaller car hire company, such as Air Auto in Portugal, Goldcar, 1st Car in South Africa, Maggiore in Italy, Stoutes in Barbados, Thai Rent and then Kasina in Malaysia.

Delivery Service

Delivery service is possible, but as rates are discounted, it is not the norm, but can be possible in countries like Barbados, Jamaica, Thailand and Malaysia.

Extras, Zero CDW costs

When choosing your vehicle and supplier, you also look at the prices of any extras you need, like infant seats, ski boxes, GPS or additional drivers. These costs that are paid locally do differ by supplier, and can make a bargain cost a tad more than budgeted.

Look at the excess that will be held on your card, and how much it costs to reduce it, and ideally to zero. Even if you have excess insurance cover, this will be held on your card, so you need consider best option for you. If unsure, please ask us.

Debit Card Use

It is also possible (e.g America, Spain and Portugal), where you can use your debit card to pay the balance when collecting your car. Please email us if needed.

Early Bird Rental Prices

Now is time to plan ahead, before any possible price rise, as marked to entice the early-bird. Think about what you would like to be driving, and get at a good price, before somebody else gets that bargain estate, convertible, SUV or minivan, and you end up paying more. A small deposit does the job.

Sat Nav

GPS can be pre-booked, to help you get around in your hire car. Some suppliers will include the Sat Nav in the rental price. Look for the logo.

One Way & Cross Border Hire

These are available, but not in all countries, and fees may apply. Please make an inquiry and we will then advise, as charges sometimes depends on length of car rental, pickup and drop off location etc, and cheaper options may be possible.

For example, in Florida and California, there is no way fee, within those states. In Thailand, you will usually need to hire for at least three, five or seven depending on which company you use.

CDW Excess Explained

Even if you have Zero Excess, there is a case for taking out Excess Insurance Cover, either for a single trip, or yearly cover.

UK Licence Rules

If you have a UK licence and hiring overseas, then most car hire suppliers will only need to see the plastic card and not worry about the DVLA code.

However, it is always safer to have the code with you. but safer to get it. If hiring in the UK and lost/forgotten your licence,it is still possible to hire a car, as some suppliers, like Alamo, will phone the DVLA to confirm you are valid to drive, but best call the local depot first.

International cross border one ways can also be done, for example Namibia to South Africa, or Latvia to Lithuania, but an extra fee will apply, but is included in your quote.

This is either included in your rate, or you can pay extra locally. For example at both Bangkok Airports you can get zero excess included in the rate with some suppliers
