Koh Samui Airport Information
Koh Samui airport caters for the ever growing passenger numbers which is expected to surge over the next 10 years. Most new airports are built of shiny aluminium and glass, like Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok. However Koh Samui Airport is a cluster of low rise buildings with thatched roofs and pillars that resemble palm trees.
The new terminal, like the current one, has the feel of a tropical resort.
In keeping with the tropical theme, there is a small open air restaurant, serving food and refreshments. The expanding airport will be able accommodate the new Airbus A319, of the Bangkok Airways fleet.
In and Around Koh Samui
Most resorts are located outside the town of Koh Samui, so renting a car or jeep is a good idea. See the beaches and mountains of the island. Travel to different restaurants in the evening or go shopping. Petrol is very cheap and parking is free.

I took the car back to Budget and 2 young lads tried to fix it but could not. The second car I hired was not very clean on the outside and the ipod did not work at all. Also the GPS had no mapping data installed and the rear cargo light did not work. I eventually got the ipod to work but only on the second last day by doing a factory reset on the Kenwood system.
