Car Rental Bangkok Don Mueang Airport
All budget airlines are now using Don Mueang Airport as of the 1st of October 2012. However Tiger Airways still fly from Suvarnabhumi, so always check,but AirAisia, Nok Air and One To Go/Orient Thai all fly from Terminal One.
Don Mueang Airport Update
All seems to be running smoothly. Passing through immigration takes about 1-30 minutes, depending on beating the otehr passengers on your flight and others. Get in the right hand side two queues, as they pass you through the Thai and Diplomat channels when empty, so speeds things up.
Taxi's outside the airport might seem thin on ground, and seemingly long queues, but be patient as taxis do arrive. Get in the queue nearest the pavement. Again expect about twenty minute wait when busy.

Suvarnabhmui (pronounced Sue-wan-a-poom)is the new airport that opened in late 2006, and is the one that all international flights use. It is near Bang Na on the way to Pattaya, and easily accessible by road. The train skylink is now open. However, alot of people still prefer the taxi to get to their hotel.

I took the car back to Budget and 2 young lads tried to fix it but could not. The second car I hired was not very clean on the outside and the ipod did not work at all. Also the GPS had no mapping data installed and the rear cargo light did not work. I eventually got the ipod to work but only on the second last day by doing a factory reset on the Kenwood system.
